Campaign for Real Ale

St. Albans Beer & Pubs Festival

Friday 24 September – Sunday 3 October 2021

THIS EVENT IS OVER 10 DAYS to SUPPORT PUBS.

St Albans’ famous annual beer and cider festival will take a different form in 2021 – and be held in the city’s pubs. The event, which has historically drawn thousands of ale and cider fans into the city centre each September, will for the first time be run across a number of venues, in collaboration with local publicans.

This year's St Albans Beer Festival is different. There'll be no big event in the Alban Arena - instead it's ALL about the city's pubs, and everything they've got to offer. Over a 10-day period from 24th Sep to 3rd October, we hope to promote a diverse range of events across local venues, encouraging locals and visitors alike to explore the St Albans pub scene. We're already aware of numerous activities, from mini-beer festivals and tasting sessions, to special food evenings, live music, quizzes and talks - and we've got a website listing them all coming very soon.

Organised by South Herts CAMRA, the festival was held at the Alban Arena for 24 years. But after the devastation caused by Covid-19, we’ve decided that encouraging people back into pubs must be the priority this time around.

Safeguarding the future of community pubs is a key part of CAMRA’s mission and, in this 50th anniversary of the Campaign, we want to put that into practice more than ever before. For anyone used to our previous festivals in the Alban Arena, this will be quite different - but it will be just as exciting.

Updates will be published on our website https://stalbansbeerfestival.org.uk/ - so please follow us and keep checking back for the latest news!
