- Perseverance Porters & Pies Festival

IT IS HAPPENING, BUT UNFORTUNATELY WITHOUT THE PIES!.
There will be a social on Friday from noon by Alan Molloy and a Saturday social by Steve Goodall at noon.
Nick will be offering alternative food to absorb the great porters & stouts he has choose for his festival.
Kick off the post-Christmas blues and come down and drink plenty of porter at this excellent little festival.
There will be NO pies this year as the Catering mixer for the pastry has had a catastrophic failure and the spare part will not arrive in time. However, there will be other food available to accompany the porters & stouts.
Here's the list of beers.
1) Big Smoke Dark Wave Damson 4.50% Full flavoured wash of chocolate and smooth, medium sweet roasted malts, with notes of coffee & caramel & damson
2) Bude Coastal Brewery Cornish Black 4.50% Cornish oatmeal stout
3) Indie Rabble Retro Suitcase 4.40% Robust dark malts are packed into this medium bodied, classic, easy drinking package
4) Oakham Hell Bent 5.00% Cask Aged Coffee Porter, robust dark malt backbone, fruity, spicy hop notes and fresh ground roasted coffee flavours
5) Ossett/Amundsen Chocolate Stout 5.00% Rich, full-bodied and decadent chocolate stout; sweet in taste and on the nose, with an effortlessly smooth finish
6) Riverhead Marsden Porter 6.00% Victorain porter; Combining the rich depth of smoked malt with the dark berry and earthly spice of Bramling Cross hops
7) Southwark Potter's Field Porter 4.00% Malty body and bitterness balanced with a hint of coffee and liquorice
8) XT Brewing XT10 4.40% Full bodied black, heart-warming stout, brewed with rich roasted malts and fresh English grown hops
Nick also has a pin of a special batch of Scumbag Maggot from WEBrew. It will be priced separately to the festival beers.

The Happy Man is in the GBG 2026 and has 3 beer festivals a year, each offering an entirely different range of real ales from all over the country.
The pub is in Englefield Green, a 45 min bus ride from Slough on a First Beeline bus No.8. NOTE: the last bus back to Slough is approx 21.00.
Ales are sold in 2 glass sizes (½ pint and pint) which make trying the range and finding favourites easier.
Cider is also available.

2026 will be their fifth Beer Fest.
Again they will be offering three sessions across the two days for you to come along and taste the best beers and ciders they have found in the last year! If you've followed their socials you will know they have loved getting out there taste testing so you'll be sure to find many new beers you've not tried before and maybe some breweries you've never even heard of before!
The Hall is laid out with long trestle tables which ensures that whether you are coming along solo or as part of a large group you will be surrounded by fellow beer drinkers so a fun social session is guaranteed!
Hot freshly prepared food is available across all sessions,
NOTE: This is a ticketed event and the tickets are on sale.
