CAMRA accredited for serving consistently well-kept real ales. A previous runner-up in our branch Pub Of The Year competition and winner of Cider Pub Of The Year. A comfortable pub with several seating areas. The larger front room has soft sofas, a piano and a large inglenook fireplace, with a real log fire. There is also sports TV here. Another seating area (again with an open fire) leads through to the rear dining area, which has well-stocked bookshelves. Outside the rear of the pub is a delightful garden. The three guest ales in this Cask Marque pub are always varied and from some of the more interesting breweries local and around the country. Regular beer festivals are held during the year. Quiz night every Thursday at 8.30pm and Steak night is Wednesday. Buskers night is 1st & 3rd Tuesday every month. Breakfast is served from 11am on Saturdays.
